Crew Stadium to welcome Jason Aldean on August 5

Columbus Crew Stadium and Ohio State Fair officials have announced that country star Jason Aldean will play Crew Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 5, the closing night of the 2012 Ohio State Fair. With more than six million records sold and dozens of concert attendance records smashed across the nation, Jason Aldean is carving out his place among the top-tier country artists as he pushes the boundaries of country music with his own unique style.

The CMA Album of the Year, Aldean’s DOUBLE PLATINUM fourth record MY KINDA PARTY was the top-selling country album of 2011 and the No. five top-seller in all genres.  Aldean has topped the charts with eight career number one hits, including the DOUBLE PLATINUM “Dirt Road Anthem,” the crossover smash “Don’t You Wanna Stay” feat. Kelly Clarkson,  “Big Green Tractor,” “She’s Country” and “Hicktown.”  The Georgia native’s MY KINDA PARTY TOUR sold one million tickets across the nation in 2011 and was one of only four country tours to make the cut as a Billboard Top 25 Tour of 2011.

Located adjacent to the Ohio Expo Center, Crew Stadium is a 20,145-seat facility with the ability to hold up to 35,000 for concerts, that features a permanent main stage and roof structure. It is home to the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer and is a target destination for other marquee sports and entertainment events including U.S. Soccer matches, NFL exhibitions, NCAA soccer and concerts.
